Biography
Isabelle Fuhrman was born on February 25, 1997(age 15) in
Washington D.C. She fell into acting at age 7, while she was was waiting for her older sister Madeleine. A casting
director spotted young Isabelle and cast her for one of this shows, Cartoon Fridays. Just a few years later,
Isabelle made her screen debut in the drama Hounddog, alongside Dakota Fanning. But her big
breakout role came in 2009, where she was chosen to portray Esther in the horror movie Orphan, next to Vera Farmiga
and Peter Sarsgaard. It was Leonardo DiCaprio who decided that he would not film the movie without her. In reviews, Isabelle
is described as "very impressive" and as "another Jodie Foster to keep an eye on". In an interview, Isabelle
said she never saw Esther as scary and wasn't afraid of her either.
Two years later, in 2010, Isabelle was cast in the lead role of Angie Vanderveer in the movie
Salvation Boulevard(a dark comedy), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011. Just a few months later, Isabelle landed
a new role: On May 11, 2011, Lionsgate confirmed that she had been cast in the role of Clove in the film The Hunger Games. Isabelle
originally went for the role of Katniss, but was later called back to read for the part of Clove. "It was probably the best summer
I've ever had!", Isabelle said after she was done shooting the movie. A little later, she also got the role of Michelle
in The Healer, a supernatural thriller directed by Giorgio Serafini. Isabelle is currently working on her new movie
After Earth, in which she stars next to Will Smith. The movie is expected to be released on June 7, 2013.
Isabelle is only 15 years old, but has already worked with big names in the buisness. Besides acting, Isabelle is your average teenage girl. She likes to hang out with her friends, go shopping and keep up with the latest fashion. "I'm definitely a High Heel person. I wear High Heels everyday. Like, I'm not even kidding", Isabelle said on the set of her Seventeen Magazine photoshoot. Isabelle currently resides in Los Angeles in California, with her mother, her father and her older sister Madeline.
